The design for this project was completed while serving as lead architect and project manager at TenBerke Architects in collaboration with Hanbury serving as the executive architect. Construction is ongoing.

The new Hotel and Conference Center at the University of Virginia will anchor the Emmet/Ivy Corridor and act as a bridge between North Grounds and Central Grounds. Like the relationship of Jefferson’s Academical Village to the lawn, the Hotel and Conference Center will be set in the high-performance landscape of the Corridor, creating educational opportunities where UVA’s holistic approach to stormwater collection is reinforced by the natural hydrology/watershed of the area.

The 220,000 square foot project will include 225 guestrooms, conference facilities, and a visitors center. The new Hotel and Conference Center will also serve the campus community—including students, faculty, and staff—as well as visitors and Charlottesville residents, creating a new place to stay amid the vibrant exchange of ideas.
