The Brook Street Residence Halls at Brown University establish a new vibrant and inviting residential community on the southern end of Brown’s campus that is knitted into the fabric of its surrounding neighborhood. The residence halls with housing for 355 students are oriented towards third and fourth-year undergraduates on campus, integrating spaces for living with places to socialize, study, and gather.

Publicly accessible green spaces and ground floor common areas contribute to a lively and engaging pedestrian experience. The all-electric, brick clad buildings feature an exposed hybrid steel and cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure that helped to minimize the environmental impact of the construction process and the manufacturing of construction materials when compared to traditional methods of construction.
